Family Sessions

Newborn Sessions

Sessions are relaxed (but fast-paced), fun, and freeing. Don't expect any stiff, super-posed shots. Images are real, spontaneous, and fresh. Once your session is booked, we'll discuss location and the overall feel of the session. You'll find tips to prepare for the session on my web page. I love capturing real life moments ... the silly, spontaneous, and playful ... the loving, serious and thoughtful.

The Experience

Being a Mum myself I know that kids will be kids! Patience is need at all times but come and relax and let me talk to the child/children.

Relaxed parents = relaxed kids.

I'll try to play about with them get them to have fun and not "perform". Make it fun and the images will be natural and something to treasure forever.

Kids sessions can be either in studio or on location (park, farm, forest etc) Studio options can be discussed while booking but a range of backdrops are available.

I really like to see the magic between you and capture your excitement as you get ready to start your lives together. I like to try unusual locations, too. Let's show what makes you a unique couple in love.

Along those lines, I also like to see your personalities come through in your attire - get funky! Bright spots of colour, cool Converse and a hip tie, sexy heels and jeans ... spice it up!

Any ideas for a shot is most welcome and it helps if you choose a location that means something to you as a couple for example if your planning your wedding to be in the area, you like to go for walks in a certain place etc. For more info go to my advice section!

Newborns are best photographed when less than 3 weeks old - book before your due date!

I will come to your home so you don't have to bring your little one out in the cold. A few little props can be used and different locations in the home ie moses basket, crib, parents arms, bed etc.

I find newborn images taken in the home in natural light the best way to capture the precious moments of your new baby.

I try to capture the fun and the love between a family. Posing some shots and usually getting the best images when you think the camera is not on.

It's not going to be stiff and formal. Don't be surprised if I ask you to all jump in the air at the same time, lay down in the grass or make silly faces at each other.Just keep an open mind!

I always welcome your own ideas, so if you have something specific in mind, please tell me before the session so I can be sure to come prepared.
